The guys over at http://www.standuppaddlesurf.net/ posted this awesome video of Ekolu Kalama at Sunset Beach on the North Shore. With a good 20′ swell and epic conditions, he tears it up on his SUP paddle board.

Now that we’re on the home stretch of the winter north swells, I was digging through some youtube surf videos and found this gem. Great clips of pipe and others from the north shore. A few clips from Teahupoo as well. Enjoy!

This video showcases the power and insanity of the Waimea shore break. How these guys survive this is beond me. It is an excerpt from “Island Fever”, a surf movie that was never published.

Today marks the end of the holding period of the big wave invitational in memory of Eddie Aikau.


Looks like we’ll have to wait until next year and hope for some bigger swells. Until then, enjoy the surf!
