Tropical storm Carlos = good south swell on the way

Friday, July 17th, 2009

carlosAs reported by the Examiner, tropical storm Carlos is fizzling out, which means Hawaii will likely not be hit by the storm, but the swell from it will.

We may see overhead south swell come late next week as a result. Lets keep our fingers crossed to keep this epic south summer rolling along.

In the meantime, there is still some decent shoulder-high swell to enjoy on the south shores, but you may need to be patient for them.

Epic conditions expected on south shore

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

With 3 days of sea breezes expected and overhead swell building on the south shore as I write this, I’m fully expecting Wed. & Thurs. of this week to be epic overhead glassyness.

Stay tuned for reports :)

Epic South

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

This morning was nothing short of epic conditions. Paddled out at Tongs, then over to Rice Bowl, then to Old Mans. All 3 were going off. Glassy overhead barrels everywhere. Rice Bowl was the cleanest.

Occasional double overhead cleaner sets where coming through every half hour or so. Watch out for those!

I took some more pics at DiamondHead. Will post soon.
